Standard Batteries was one of the leading manufactures of lead acid batteries for industrial & automotive use, exited this business in the year 1998 and since then, the company has been engaged in trading of various goods.
lt is also in the business of Financial Services including providing loans to corporates, bills discounting and factoring.

Above is long term price performance chart of the Company. The narrative of Company exiting the core business and entering into new business of trading goods is reflected by the stock chart. It has not performed on exchanges.
My Opinion
Standard Batteries is one of the earliest listed entities on stock exchanges. If you look at long term price performance chart then you can clearly see that Company has not performed on exchanges. People have lost money in this counter.
The Company exited core business of lead acid battery and since then have not entered any well defined business. This indecision and non performance is clearly reflected on stock prices.
I would not suggest to invest in companies which do not have well defined business.
