As per the Company website it is one of the leading Granite Company in India. It is the largest exporter of finished granite in India and one of the largest in Asia with exports to over 12 countries globally across Europe, Middle East and predominantly North America.
It has its own quarries and it also imports marbles of different colors from other countries. It processes those imported marbles along with the ones from its own quarries and then sells them to market. Some of the leading projects mentioned below have used stones from this Company.

Pokarna Limited Stock Performance
The stock was completely re-rated during the bull run that started in year 2014. It gave close to 10 times return in one year which is excellent by any standard. Since that movement stock has consolidated above 100 (in range of 150).
Stock price performance was not great before this re-rating of the stock. It had good time till year 2006 but since then it was on constant decline showing in major improvement. The dividend yield is also good with less than .5 at current market price.
Pokarna Limited My Opinion
Pokarna Limited is a Granite Company.Granite sector is treated as separate sector but it can be considered under building material sector. It is one of the building materials. Recently the usage of Granite have increased due to attractive look of it.
The attractive look does come at a price though. Granite can be considered as Luxury item due to cost involved in it. It is used in Commercial as well as Residential buildings. Now a days people have started using temples and other similar structures made from Granite due to beautiful look and long lasting nature of it.
Polished granite and tiles are used as exterior as well as interior materials in various construction projects. The growth in economy will give rise to demand of luxury housing and costly interior as well as commercial projects which may consume Granite.
I am bullish on Housing materials sector and have invested in Companies from this sector. I have not invested in Granite sector as of now and not willing to invest as of now. The reason is simple. I already have good exposure in the sector so there is no plan to increase the exposure.
